Formed in 2011, Greg McDonald & Gemma Gayner are an acoustic-roots duo from London.

Steve Knightley and Phil Beer of Show of Hands are currently producing the duo's debut album for release in 2012. Having spent summer 2011 playing festivals including Cambridge Folk Festival, this winter Greg McDonald & Gemma Gayner are supporting Phillip Henry & Hannah Martin, Blair Dunlop & Ashley Hutchins, and Kan.

Formed in March 2011, the duo brings together singer-songwriter Greg McDonald's award-winning narrative songs and fiddle virtuoso Gemma Gayner's breathtaking musicianship.

As a songwriter Greg McDonald has won awards from Rolling Stone and been called "inspired" by The Times. Greg's debut album Stranger at the Door was Q magazineÕs highest rated independent album of 2009, while 2011Õs follow up Tomorrow England was called "one of the most complete albums in years" by fRoots writer Simon Jones.

Gemma Gayner's virtuosic skill across genres from folk to jazz to classical has taken her from Deptford jazz cellars to major folk festival stages and seen her called a "powerhouse instrumentalist" by fRoots. Between them Greg and Gemma have worked with Show of Hands, and shared stages with everyone from Seth Lakeman to The Pogues.
